Dietary recommendations for autoimmune diseases

Here is what Dr. Fuhrman recommends for anyone with an autoimmune disease

  1. High-nutrient, vegan diet, rich in green veggies
  2. Blended soups and blended saladds to increase absorption of phytochemical compounds.
  3. Fresh vegetable juice (carrots, beets, parsley, kale, and other greens)
  4. High dose of fish oils or plant derived EPA and DHA
  5. Beneficial bowel flora (not sure what this is yet)
  6. Natural anti-inflammatory herbs such as turmeric, quercetin, ginger, and bioflavonoids.
  7. Multivitamin/ mineral plus additional vitamin D supplement.
  8. Water only fasting, used periodically if necessary
  9. Avoid salt, wheat and oil!
